5 signs your business website needs a rebuild, not just a facelift
Every business website eventually starts to show its age. But there's a real difference between a site that needs a fresh coat of paint and one that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up, and getting that distinction wrong usually means spending money twice.
It takes more than a few seconds to load
Visitors decide whether to stay or leave within the first few seconds. If your site was built years ago on an old platform, chances are it's carrying more weight than it needs to, and no amount of visual tweaking fixes a slow foundation.
It doesn't really work on a phone
"Mobile-friendly" and "mobile-first" are not the same thing. A lot of older sites technically shrink to fit a phone screen, but buttons are too small, menus are awkward, and forms are painful to fill in, which matters when most of your traffic is probably arriving on a phone.
You can't update it yourself
If changing a price, adding a testimonial or updating your opening hours means emailing a developer and waiting days, the site is working against you, not for you.
It doesn't actually generate enquiries
A website that looks fine but never turns visitors into calls, form submissions or sales isn't doing its job, often because there's no clear next step for a visitor to take.
If two or more of these sound familiar, a facelift won't fix the underlying problem. The foundation needs to change, not just the paint job.
